Through the SunCon Internship Programme, undergraduates from local and foreign universities will be able to grasp hold of an in-depth understanding in business and technical knowledge, alongside developing their soft skills through hands-on exposure by immersing themselves into SunCon’s notable projects.

“Empowering”
My internship was both interesting and challenging! I gained extensive exposure not only to reinforced concrete (RC) but also to architectural works. The work environment was lively, and everyone was friendly, with many of my colleagues being young. This placement helped me develop soft skills and gain knowledge that I couldn’t learn from lectures or textbooks. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with SunCon.

Sunway Construction was an amazing and, at the same time, a humbling experience for me. Exposure to real work-life experiences and environments proved to be extremely valuable for my growth as a professional. The workload and expectations placed on me kept growing throughout my internship. However, this led me to step out of my comfort zone and take ownership of the tasks I was assigned. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and one that I will surely carry forward in my career.

I gained hands-on experience in identifying and mitigating workplace hazards. Additionally, leading toolbox talks, delivering safety training, and engaging with workers at different levels of the project have strengthened communication skills. Throughout my internship, I have enhanced my understanding of construction site operations and the importance of proactive health and safety measures.

As someone with no prior experience in the construction industry, learning about it was truly eye-opening. As an HR intern, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed both office work and visiting construction sites. This exposure helped me appreciate the importance of engaging with colleagues working on-site. Throughout my time at SunCon, I received unwavering support and encouragement in executing my ideas and completing my tasks. Overall, this experience has been enriching and rewarding.

My internship at Sunway Construction was an eye-opening experience that brought my university studies to life.
